The Lost King

Stephen Paea
9/10

Peter King never wanted to go on the school wilderness camp. Twelve grumpy teenagers, heavy backpacks, tired legs, bad smells, biting flies and a lot of pointless walking - his idea of a good time. Not. He was even less happy when Mr Pearson put him in an activity group with one girl he didn't know, another who had made sarcasm an art form and . . . Jye Sullivan. Sully had been tormenting him since primary school. And now, thanks to Sully, they had left the track and couldn't find it again. The bush was closing in and so was the cold, dark night. They were lost!

When Carlo, Lee and Nicola go treasure hunting on a remote island, they find more than they expected. With their boat damaged, getting home is going to be tricky and it seems that they are not the only ones on the island of the white spear. Suggested level: intermediate, junior secondary.

I recommend this book for Simon Higgins lovers.

Racing Cars The Need For Speed

Stephen Paea

This book is about all sorts of cars and how they have changed over the years. My favorite part of this is the part on Page 16-17 where it talks about drag racers and how it's engine works and the different types of dragsters.

I recommend this book for car lovers like myself and gain more knowledge about different types of cars and how they are used.

I give this book a 9/10

Endless working, Fearful actions, Slavery.  1619-1865 slavery was created and ended in these years and thousands of African american citizens were affected. This is american history that was made from the actions of rich white men who were selfish enough to take slaves for granted. Slaves were suffering from the actions of their masters So if they wanted freedom they were have to escape and take the risk of being captured by slave hunters and their bloodhounds.

This book explains all that happened when slavery was not illegal and how people called conductors help slaves. Also how slaves escape by thinking outside the box so they wouldn't get caught. There are story's in here that showed how people escaped and how they were help by conductors on their way to freedom.
